LOUDONVILLE, NY - Winners of two straight games, Siena Women's Basketball (8-8, 5-2 MAAC) aims to match a season-high three-game winning streak Thursday when the team makes its way to Emmitsburg, MD to take on the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers (6-10, 4-3 MAAC) at 7 p.m. from Knott Arena.
Christian Taylor, Heather DeWees, and John Ruona will have the broadcast on ESPN+, while Joe Puccio and Steve Amedio will be courtside for the local call on WVCR 88.3 FM. Tickets, international stream, live stats, and courtside X updates can be found by clicking on the corresponding links.
Ball distribution has played a key role in a Siena offense that has registered 79 points in back-to-back outings. The Saints rattled off 20 assists in each of those games, and have dished out 18 or more in four of five games this month.
Ahniysha Jackson is assisting at a career rate (3.3 APG), and recently set a single-game career-high seven against Merrimack last Saturday. Fellow prominent scorer,
Teresa Seppala, also dished out a career high five assists against Merrimack, and has racked up 12 total over her last three games.
All-MAAC honoree
Anajah Brown has come to form since the turn to league play, averaging 11.3 points on 51.7 percent shooting from the floor (30-58) to go with a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game. The senior has hit 15 or more points in two of her last three games, and has netted double-digits in five of her last six overall. Brown's shooting percentage trails only teammate
Myriam Traore (69.2, 18-26) for those on the team with 25 or more shot attempts in conference games.
Coming off a 69-64 OT road win at Quinnipiac, who was unbeaten in league play until that point, fourth-year head coach Antoine White has The Mount 6-10 overall, and 4-3 in league play. The team features one of the premiere scorers in the MAAC, senior guard Jo Raflo, who ranks sixth netting 15 points per game for the fifth-ranked scoring offense in the league (60.8 PPG). Backcourt running mates Anna LeMaster (12.8 PPG) and Gabrielle Kennerly (11.4 PPG) round out the team's top-three scorers. Notably, ball control has troubled The Mount over its last three games - committing 20 or more turnovers in each.
Thursday marks the seventh all-time meeting between Siena and The Mount. After dropping each of the first three meetings in series history (12/3/95, 12/19/22, 2/4/23), the Saints went three-for-three against the Mountaineers last season to even the slate - including an 80-57 win in the MAAC Quarterfinals. In the postseason bout, Jackson and Seppala combined for 40 points and seven made three-pointers. Jackson was also the team's leading scorer in the last game played in Emmitsburg, dropping 16 on 6-16 shooting from the field.
The Saints return home Saturday to host Iona at 2 p.m. from the UHY Center. Tickets for the team's
