Siena Travels to Quinnipiac Saturday Afternoon

Saints Round Out Season Series with Bobcats

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Winners of four of its last five games, Siena Women's Basketball (10-9, 7-3 MAAC) travels to Hamden, CT Saturday to take on the Quinnipiac Bobcats (16-3, 8-2 MAAC) at 2 p.m. from M&T Bank Arena.

Steve Lennox, Billy Mecca, and Diane Nolan will be on hand for the ESPN+ broadcast, while Joe Puccio and Steve Amedio will have the local call on WVCR 88.3 FM. Tickets, international stream, live stats, and courtside X updates can be found by clicking on the corresponding links.

Coming off a game in which they committed just seven turnovers, Thursday marked the first time Siena turned the ball over 10 times or less in a game this season. With that, the 46 points allowed to Marist were the fewest allowed to an opponent this season - topping the previous low of 50 given up at Central Connecticut State on Nov. 26.

Following the footsteps of teammate Ahniysha Jackson just a few games ago, Teresa Seppala became the 31st member of the program's 1,000-point club in the team's 62-46 win over Marist Thursday. In doing so, Seppala and Jackson became the first Siena teammates to reach the program's 1,000-point club in the same season since Siena Hall of Fame inductee Kollyns Scarbrough and Megan Donohue in 2016-17. With 1,000 points achieved, Seppala is now 17 points away from 500 career rebounds, all while currently leading the nation with a .961 free throw percentage (49-51).

Jackson has her eyes set on another piece of history - 200 career made three-pointers. The graduate student enters Saturday with 189 and aims to become just the third player in program history to eclipse 200, while Peg Taylor's long-standing record of 205 isn't too far out of reach either.

In the theme of milestones reached Thursday, Anajah Brown became the eighth player in program history to reach 100 career blocks. After having already eclipsed 500 rebounds earlier this year, she's now just the sixth player in program history to hit both benchmarks. Currently at 579 boards, the senior is closing in on becoming the 22nd Saint to reach 600 for their career.

Coming off its second loss in its last three games, Quinnipiac is still poised with a 16-3 overall mark, and a 8-2 record in league play - good enough for second in the MAAC. Tricia Fabbri's Bobcats produce the league's second-ranked scoring offense at 68.4 points per night - just under four more than the Saints - while limiting teams to 59.4. Seven-time MAAC Rookie of the Week Gal Raviv has quickly established herself as one of the MAAC's top scorers, averaging 16.6 per game on .438 shooting from the field, and .304 from three. Raviv also tops the Bobcats and ranks seventh in the MAAC dishing out 3.8 assists. Ball security factors greatly for the Quinnipiac offense, ranking 27th nationally committing just 12.8 per game. Additionally on defense, the team ranks within the top-100 in the country in opponent field goal percentage (66th, .382), and opponent three-point percentage (87th, .286).

Quinnipiac leads the all-time series, 20-4. Three of Siena's four wins in the all-time series have come in Hamden, however, including a 78-60 victory last season in Jackson, Seppala, and Brown combined for 51 of the Saints' points. The Bobcats claimed the most recent matchup earlier this month, 69-51, on Jan. 9 in Loudonville.

Siena remains on the road at 7 p.m. on Thur., Feb. 6 to take on Saint Peter's from Jersey City, NJ.
