Matt Prevesk homered twice and drove in five runs to power UCF to a season-opening three-game sweep of Siena Baseball with a 16-1 decision in the finale Sunday afternoon in Orlando.
UCF (3-0) pounded out 16 hits punctuated by five home runs. The Knights also worked 10 walks without striking out.
Nick Bergamotto provided the offense for Siena (0-3) with his second home run of the series. He also worked a pair of walks in reaching base safely three times. Seven other Saints registered one hit apiece.
UCF led 5-0 through four before blowing things open with a six-run fifth. Lex Boedicker and Prevesk hit back-to-back home runs to set the tone in the frame.
The Saints return to action for a three-game neutral site series next weekend against Bradley at the USA Baseball Complex in Millington, Tennessee.
