Saints Host Broncs for Annual Gold Rush Game

Women’s Basketball to Also Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Fresh off the 350th Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC0 win in program history, Siena Women's Basketball (11-10, 8-4 MAAC) welcomes the Rider Broncs (6-15, 4-8 MAAC) to the UHY Center at 2 p.m. Saturday for its annual Gold Rush Game.

Joe Mixie and Brian Rubino will have the call on ESPN+, while Joe Puccio and Steve Amedio will have the local broadcast on WVCR 88.3 FM. Tickets, international stream, live stats, and courtside X updates can be found by clicking on the corresponding links.

Siena Women's Basketball is excited to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day during Saturday's game, with a special ceremony to honor Siena's female athletic programs at halftime. As always following the completion of Saturday games, postgame free throw shooting will take place on the court for children and their families in attendance.

Cementing what has been a resilient season for the team, Siena's 12-point comeback victory over Saint Peter's Thursday was the team's largest deficit overcome in a win this season. It was also the third time the Green & Gold came back to claim victory while trailing at the half this season.

As has been a theme throughout the season, Saints fans have a pair of milestones to keep an eye on come Saturday. Teresa Seppala needs five rebounds to join the 500-rebound club - a mark she has hit in 13 of 18 games this season. She recently recorded nine against Saint Peter's Thursday, and also dished out a career-high six assists in the game. The junior also extended her made free throw streak to 31 consecutive, further securing her national-leading percentage to 97.0%.

Looking to become just the third player in program history to reach 200 career made threes, Ahniysha Jackson needs just five more to eclipse the mark. With that, the graduate student is also 11 away from becoming the all-time program leader.

Winners of three-straight games, the Rider Broncs charge into Saturday 6-15 overall, and 4-8 in league play under the direction of 18th-year head coach Lynn Milligan. Averaging 56 PPG this season, the Broncs have netted roughly 65 over its recent three-game stretch, while holding opponents to 57.3 - down from its season average of 64.2. Gabby Turco paces the offense with 14.1 PPG on 40.9% shooting from the field, while Camryn Collins adds 9.4 points on a team-high 36.4& shooting from three. Senior guard Mariona Cos-Morales adds to both ends of the floor - averaging team highs with 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game, all while scoring 7.2 per contest.

The Saints and Broncs meet for the 58th time Saturday, with the Green and Gold leading the all-time series 40-17. Siena's .702 winning percentage against Rider is its highest against any MAAC opponent. The Saints have won each of the last five games against the Broncs by an average of 30.2 points. Going back to the 2000-01 season, the last time Siena scored 100 points in a game also came against Rider in a 103-69 victory on Jan. 13, 2001 in Loudonville. Siena and Rider last met to close out the 2023-24 regular season in Lawrenceville, NJ, resulting in a 77-40 Siena win.

Following Saturday, the Saints return to the floor on Thur., Feb. 13 when the team makes the short trip to take on I-87 rival Marist. Tip-off from McCann Arena is set for 7 p.m.
