Siena Women's Tennis will be back in a familiar place as the Saints clinched its ninth consecutive MAAC postseason appearance after a 4-3 road conference win at Rider on Tuesday. 
 
The Saints (6-10 overall and 4-3 in conference play) took it to the wire, but received the clinching victory from singles No. 3 player Zaara Omar, who outlasted Claire Brown 6-4, 3-6, 6-2
 
Laia Giralt, Manuela Gomez and Madeline De Faber-Schumacher all were victorious as well from the No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 spots as Siena took four of six singles matches.
 
"Great performance by the women on the road, playing in extremely difficult conditions," said Siena head tennis coach Alex Van Cott. "They never stopped fighting and really stuck together as a team today. So proud of Zaara, who went from the urgent care in the morning to getting the clinch a few hours later." 
 
Giralt earned her 13^th singles victory of the season and the 53^rd of her career to tie Mitsuki Fukamachi (2013-2017) for the second most singles' wins in Siena women's tennis program history. Only Sarah Mayer (2005-09) has earned more wins with 70.  
 
Giralt, the native of Barcelona, Spain, topped Laila Fishman 7-6 (7), 6-2. 
 
Gomez bested Chloe Monachelli 6-3, 6-2 while De Faber-Schumacher held off Elle Catanzarite 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (5). 
 
The Broncs dropped to 8-12 overall and 4-3 in the MAAC.
 
Next, Siena will travel to Poughkeepsie to play at Marist (11-7 overall, 4-3 MAAC) on Saturday to conclude the regular season.
 
The top six teams qualify for the MAAC Tournament at Mercer County park in West Windsor Park, NJ from Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27.
