LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Women's Golf is off to a smooth start at the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship as the Saints are second in the field of eight with an 18-hole score of +15, 303. The Green and Gold trail Quinnipiac by just seven strokes through the opening day from Disney's Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Emely Kintzel completed day one tied for seventh place in the field of 40 at +3, 75. After shooting four-over on the front nine, the sophomore shot -1 on the back nine thanks to going -2 over her final four holes with two birdies, and two pars. She was the lone Saint to shoot under par on the front or back nine Thursday.
Mackenzie Whitney ended the day tied with teammate Kintzel for a share of seventh. The junior was even through her first 12 holes, and was tied for second until a triple bogey on 13, and a bogey on 14. However, she finished with four consecutive pars. She also led the field with five total birdies.
Jillian Barend finished the day tied for 11th, shooting +4, 76 after an impressive +1 on the front nine.
Julia Kret finished the day at +5, 77, shooting an even 36 on the back nine. Her three birdies were the second most on the team, and she enters Friday tied for 16th place. Not counted towards the team score,
Chelsea Woods finished her round at +9, 81 - shooting 41 on the front, and 40 back nine while compiling two birdies on the back. She also tied two others with the lowest par 3 score, averaging a 2.75.
