The Capital District Classic was one for plenty of personal bests in another school record-setting weekend that produced three winning times in Troy at RPI for the Siena Men's and Women's Track Teams.
As one of the final tune-ups before the MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship in two weeks, the Saints took advantage and set several top marks in the program's lore.Â
Of note:
- Senior Claire Gardner won the women's 400-meter with a school-record time of 57.74 and was joined by teammates Jennifer McClintock (58.36) in second place and Keira Flaherty (59.34) to occupy the top three positions in the event. All three were also the top three finishes in school history.
- Junior Mattingly O'Rourke placed first in the women's 800-meter and had the sixth-best outdoor time in program history at 2:15.67.
- In the women's 4x400-meter event, the quartet of Sara Fitzgerald, O'Rourke, Julianna Tourangeau, and McClintock finished with the fourth fastest time in Siena history at 4:05.39.
- And, in the men's 4x400-meter event, the team of Noah Smith, Tyler Tkaczyk, Parris Porter and Chris Murphy clocked in at 3.30.42 for the seventh fastest finish in program's history.
- The Siena Women placed fifth (55 points) while the Siena Men finished in seventh place (31 points).Â
Siena will be back in competition at the 2025 MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11 from Rider University.Â
