The two hottest teams in MAAC women's lacrosse will square off on Friday at 4 p.m. in a MAAC Semifinal Round between third-seeded Siena and second-seeded Fairfield at Waldron Family Stadium in Emmitsburg, MD on the campus of top-seeded Mount St. Mary's.
The Saints (9-8) have reeled off seven consecutive victories, going 7-0 in the month of April including a 15-9 MAAC Second Round victory over #7 Quinnipiac this past Sunday.
During the undefeated span, Siena has produced 13.57 goals per game while allowing just 8.28 goals per game.
As for Fairfield (9-7), the Stags own the second longest winning streak in the conference at four straight games, having defeated Canisius 20-9, Manhattan 20-6, Sacred Heart 13-7, and Marist 20-10.
The Stags last played on April 19 and will have a 12-day layoff after earning a bye.
The two teams will get together in a postseason meeting for the fifth time in the previous six MAAC Tournaments.

Making their 12
th overall MAAC Postseason appearance, Siena is 8-11 in MAAC postseason games and have made the playoffs in six consecutive seasons excluding the Covid year that cancelled the tournament.
Fairfield leads the all-time series with Siena 30-4 and has defeated them in all six postseason meetings. Siena last defeated Fairfield in 2022.
The Saints has seen a resurgence behind freshman goalkeeper
McAllister Salter, who won all seven of her starts.
In conference games only, the Tappan, NY native has risen up the rankings to third in goals-against average at 8.85, fifth in save percentage at .449 and is 10
th in saves per game at 6.86.
The Siena offense has seen a major uptick as well over the last seven games during the win streak.
MAAC First Team selection
Grace Dobrzynski leads Siena with 26 goals and 34 assists followed by
Kelly Logue, who has produced her third consecutive 30-goal season to go along with 20 assists.
Sophomore
Olivia Nicholson is the top goal scorer with 32 goals.
Additionally, redshirt freshman
Koehler Nieman has stepped up recently with 10 goals over her previous five games including a hat trick in back-to-back games.
The game will feature two of the better draw controllers in the conference with sophomore
Cassidy Bonura (85 draw controls) and MAAC First Team selection Brynn Donnelly (leads conference with 129 draw controls). In conference games only, Donnelly ranks first in the category (10.13 draw controls) while Bonura is second (6.38 draw controls per game).
Defensively, Saints' All-MAAC First Team selection
Mikayla Cooke (21 caused turnovers) offers speed for Siena while the Stags' defensive stalwart has been Haley Burns (21 caused turnovers) in the midfield.
The winner will play for the MAAC Championship on Sunday at 11 a.m. against the winner of No. 1 Mount St. Mary's (11-5) and No. 4 Iona (8-8), who play at 12 p.m. on Friday.
