Women’s Soccer Kicks Off October Against Quinnipiac

Saints Begin Final Month of Regular Season Action With Pivotal Showdown

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena Women's Soccer aims to kick off the final month of regular season action strong when the Saints host perennial MAAC power Quinnipiac Wednesday at 3 p.m. on Hickey Field.

Brett Bosley and Joe Lemery have the call of the fourth of five regular season Siena Women's Soccer ESPN+ broadcasts this fall.

Siena (5-3-4, 2-2-1) is looking to bounce back after seeing its three-match win streak – and four-match unbeaten stretch – snapped at the hands of defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament Champion Fairfield 1-0 on Saturday in Connecticut. The road gets no easier for the Saints as they return to action against last year's runner-up Quinnipiac (3-3-3, 3-0-2), which captured the preceding two MAAC Championships prior to the Stags. The Bobcats enter play ranked fourth nationally in corners (8.44).

Wednesday's tilt is a pivotal contest for both teams as they reach the midway point of the MAAC slate. Siena currently holds down the sixth and final MAAC Tournament spot, while the Bobcats are one of four remaining undefeated teams in league action. The heavyweight showdown features programs in which either one or the other has appeared in each of the past five MAAC Championship matches, winning three.

Two of the premier programs in the MAAC since Quinnipiac joined the league a dozen years ago, the Saints and Bobcats have split their all-time series overall 9-9-3, as they get set to meet for the 22nd time. Quinnipiac has prevailed in four straight, winning three in a row after advancing on penalty kicks in the 2021 MAAC Semifinals.
