LOUDONVILLE, NY - Siena Men's Golf opens its Fall 2025 season Monday morning at the Metropolis Intercollegiate hosted by Columbia. The Saints will be one of 15 teams competing at the two-day, 54-hole tournament at Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, NY, which opens with the first 36 holes with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, Sept. 8.
The Metropolis Intercollegiate is the first of five
fall outings for the Saints, as well as the first of three that span the month of September. Consistently ranked among the top courses in the metropolitan area, Metropolis is home to a signature sixth hole recognized by golf publications as one of the 18 best in the region—and among the 500 best holes in the world. Over the years, Metropolis has hosted every major professional and amateur championship in the area. The par-70 Metropolis Country Club plays 6,878 yards, following renovations in 2013.
Head coach
Steven Jensen returns All-MAAC honorees
Austin Giroux and
Michael McConie to a youthful Saints team in which Giroux is the lone senior. The 2025 Second Team All-MAAC selection Giroux held a 75.9 scoring average through 26 rounds last season and boasted a pair of top-three finishes, which both came during the fall at The Murray Cup (3rd) and the Lehigh Invitational. McConie, a fellow Second Team All-MAAC honoree last season and former MAAC Rookie of the Year, enters his junior campaign after finishing the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships as Siena's top finisher, placing 17th at +4 overall (73-76-71).
Additionally, sophomore
KC Nickel looks to build off a promising freshman campaign in which he was the second-highest finishing Saint at the MAAC Championships with a 25th-place showing (+9). The Waunakee, WI, native broke through with a -1 total over the 36-hole Matthews Auto Collegiate last fall for what is currently his career-low 36-hole score and also added three top-10 finishes to his resume - including a fifth-place finish at the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational in the spring.
Following the Metropolis Intercollegiate, Siena returns to the course from Sept. 22-23 at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at Wethersfield Country Club in Wethersfield, CT.
