LOUDONVILLE, NY — Siena Softball is set to embark on its 51st varsity season this spring, as the program officially unveiled its 2026 schedule. The Saints will play a challenging 46-game regular-season slate, highlighted by 28 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contests as Siena looks to secure its fourth MAAC Championship Series appearance in five seasons.
Â
The Green & Gold once again open the season away from home, beginning the year at the Charleston Southern Kickoff. The Saints are no strangers to success in the tournament, having opened the 2025 campaign with a perfect 5–0 showing at the event. Siena will then make its annual trip to the Sunshine State to compete in the Make It Happen Games in Madeira Beach, FL, providing the team with an early-season opportunity to test itself against a strong non-conference field.
Â
MAAC play begins on the road when Siena travels to Sacred Heart for a two-day, three-game series from March 7–8. The Pioneers are one of several conference opponents the Saints will face away from home, as Siena is slated for road MAAC series at Canisius (March 24), Manhattan (April 11–12), Fairfield (April 18–19), and defending conference champion Marist to close the regular season from May 1–2.
Â
Siena's home MAAC schedule opens March 21–22 with a weekend series against Iona, also marking the Saints' home opener. Additional conference opponents visiting Loudonville include Saint Peter's (March 28–29), Rider (April 3–4), Mount St. Mary's (April 21), and Merrimack, which closes the home schedule with a series from April 25–26.
Â
The 2026 slate also features a home-and-home series with crosstown rival UAlbany. Siena will make the short trip to UAlbany for a doubleheader on March 11 before welcoming the Great Danes to Loudonville for a pair of games four weeks later on April 8.
Â
Other non-conference games include return trips to Dartmouth (Apr. 22) and Le Moyne (Apr. 28), along with a doubleheader at Wagner on March 18. The matchup against Wagner marks the first meeting between the two programs since 2008.
Â
At season's end, the top six teams in the MAAC standings will qualify for the league's double-elimination championship tournament, scheduled for May 6–9. All tournament games will be hosted by the regular-season champion, with the MAAC title and an automatic NCAA Tournament berth on the line.
