LOUDONVILLE, NY — Siena Women's Basketball returns to the UHY Center on Saturday, Jan. 17, welcoming MAAC rival Saint Peter's for a 2 p.m. tipoff. The matchup marks the Saints' lone home game in a four-game, eight-day span and begins a two-game season series between the longtime conference foes.
Kelly O'Donnell and Brian Rubino will have the call on ESPN+, with Joe Lemery providing sideline reporting. The game will also air on WVCR 88.3 FM with Joe Puccio and Steve Amedio. Tickets, live stats, and courtside X updates are available via the corresponding links.
Saturday's contest is also Family Day at the UHY Center. Families attending with children are encouraged to stay following the game for postgame kids' free throws on the court. There will also be a postgame autograph session roughly 15 minutes following the game.
Siena (6-10, 4-3 MAAC) looks to regroup against the Peacocks, and, despite recent results, the Saints have been competitive in league play and enter Saturday facing the MAAC's 10th-place team. Siena has been tested by one of the conference's more demanding early schedules and will look to use home-court advantage to regain momentum.
Individually,
Jamariah Turner is on the doorstep of a major milestone, entering Saturday just one point shy of 1,000 for her collegiate career and could reach the mark in front of the home crowd.
Saint Peter's enters the weekend 3-13 overall and 2-5 in MAAC play. After opening conference action with a sweep of a Western New York road trip, the Peacocks have dropped five straight. Sophomore De'Naya Rippery leads SPU at 12.0 points per game, while the rest of the roster averages fewer than seven points per contest. Offensively, Saint Peter's ranks last in the MAAC at 50.6 points per game, shooting 33.0% from the field and 24.2% from beyond the arc. Defensively, the Peacocks sit seventh in the league in scoring defense (65.3 PPG allowed), though opponents are shooting 41.3% overall.
Saturday's game marks the 84th meeting all-time between the programs, with Siena holding a 48-35 advantage. The Saints have controlled the recent series, winning six straight against Saint Peter's — their second-longest active streak versus any MAAC opponent. Siena has also been dominant at home, owning a 13-game home winning streak against the Peacocks dating back to Jan. 24, 2011, which stands as the program's longest active home streak against a conference foe.
Following Saturday's matchup, Siena heads back on the road to face two-time defending MAAC champion Fairfield on Monday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m.
