Men’s Lacrosse Receiving Votes in Preseason KANE Men’s D1 Media Poll

Saints extend streak to six consecutive weeks of being mentioned in poll dating back to 2025

LOUDONVILLE, NY – In the first major national Division I men's lacrosse preseason poll, the Siena Men's Lacrosse team extended its streak to six consecutive weeks of being mentioned in the Inside Lacrosse KANE Men's Division I Media Poll.
 
Siena checks in 11th amongst the teams that are receiving votes in the Jan. 20 poll.

Maryland sits atop of the rankings with 454 points and 17 first-place votes out of a possible 22 votes from media members. The poll will run each Monday throughout the season. 

Maryland is followed by Princeton (which received a first-place vote) and Syracuse.

Defending national champion Cornell ranks fourth and received four first-place votes while Georgetown rounded out the Top-Five. 

The Saints (11-5 in 2025) are coming off a season, in which it won the program's fourth MAAC Championship and first since 2014. Siena's five weeks spent in the National Media Poll marked the most weeks since the program was noted on six occasions throughout the 2012 season. Siena's eight weeks in 2011 remain the record for the program's most mentions inside the Media Poll. 

In 2025, the Saints matched their longest winning streak of nine straight with a 12-8 win over then #16/#19 Sacred Heart in the MAAC Championship on May 3 to match the program's longest winning streak since it won 10 in a row from March 21, 2009 through May 3, 2009.   
 
Siena fell to then RV/#19 UAlbany at Casey Stadium 11-9 on May 7 in a NCAA Opening Round match up.  
 
The Saints ranked fourth nationally in both points per game (22.50) and assists per game (8.75), seventh in shot percentage (.322), and eighth in scoring (13.75). 

Siena opens the season on Saturday, Feb. 7 at #17 Boston University at 1 p.m.
