LOUDONVILLE, NY – After earning a league-high five Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week awards during a fantastic freshman season,
Gavin Doty has secured his first conference honor in what has been an equally superlative sophomore campaign. The Siena Basketball standout has been heralded as the Air Force Reserve MAAC Player of the Week for the first time in his exemplary career.

Doty becomes the third different Siena player to earn conference weekly honors this season, and second to be named MAAC Player of the Week joining

Francis Folefac is a two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week (Dec. 1, Jan. 12) to date.

Doty led Siena to a decisive 69-50 victory over I-87 rival Marist Thursday night at MVP Arena in the Saints lone action last week. The Fulton, New York native led all scorers with 21 points, while adding seven rebounds. Doty single-handedly outscored the Red Foxes 16-14 in the second half, with seven of his points fueling a decisive 14-0 run midway through the final stanza which catapulted Siena back into the lead for good.

Doty currently ranks third in the MAAC in both scoring (16.5) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.44), and seventh in rebounding (6.8). The sophomore guard has registered six 20-point performances and four double-doubles.

Doty and the Saints return to action for the annual Western New York trip which tips off at Niagara Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
