No. 22 Wake Forest scored in five of its six innings at bat punctuated by an eight-run fourth to complete the series sweep of Siena Baseball 15-1 in seven innings in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Wake Forest (6-1) registered 11 hits and worked 15 walks on the afternoon. Luke Costello led the charge with a pair of home runs and six RBI.
Six different Siena (0-6) players recorded one hit apiece, including three which tallied doubles. The Saints scored their lone run in the opening frame on back-to-back doubles from
Vincent Venditti and
Owen Pincince to begin the game.
Siena returns to the diamond for a three-game neutral site series next weekend against regional foe Massachusetts. The series-opener is set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Maryland.
