Siena Women's Golf wrapped up play at the Battle at the Beach Sunday at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club, highlighted by a top-five individual finish from sophomore
Julia Kret.
Kret carded rounds of 75 and 79 to finish at 10-over par (154) and claim fifth place overall in the 70-player field. She totaled five birdies across the two rounds and finished just three shots shy of a top-three showing. Kret's steady play on the par 4s (4.15 average) kept her firmly in contention throughout the final round.
As a team, Siena posted a round-two score of 329 to finish with a 36-hole total of 655 (+79), placing sixth overall in the 13-team field. The Saints recorded 11 birdies during the tournament and played the par 5s at a 5.38 scoring average, tied for fourth-best among the competing teams.
Mackenzie Whitney turned in one of the team's strongest rounds Sunday, firing a 76 in round two to finish tied for 20th at 161 (85-76).
Emely Kintzel placed tied for 39th after rounds of 83 and 84 (167), while
Chelsea Woods shot 83-91 (174) to tie for 53rd.
Isabella Silva rounded out the Saints' lineup with a 92-90 (182).
Charleston Southern claimed the team title at 603 (+27), followed by Fairfield (617) and Purdue Fort Wayne (637).
Siena will return to action from Mar. 16-17 at the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational in Orange Park, FL.
