The Siena Outdoor Track Team won three races and had six finishes within the Top-3 spots on a warm and sunny Saturday at the Marist Red Fox River Rumble in Poughkeepsie.
Senior
Mattingly O'Rourke won the 800-meter event for the second consecutive week, finishing in 2:14.50—a time that trimmed off better than five seconds off her winning time last week at the RPI Under the Lights event.
Her best time remains a brisk 2:13.18 at last year's Princeton Elite Invitational last May.
Siena had nine season best times on the day and five personal best times.
The Saints performed well in both 5,000-meter events—sweeping the men's and women's meets with freshman
Max Decker taking the men's event in 15:17.08 and
Faith Skowvron winning the women's event in 18:43.90.
Olivia Schaffer had a personal best time of 19:54.00 and a seventh-place finish. On the men's side,
Michael Ryan placed third overall with a time of 15:40.64 followed by
Collin Clinton's 15:51.66 in fourth place.
In the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase,
Taylor Syvertsen took third and a personal best time of 12:08.29. Other season bests included
Avery Kozerski's 2:19.57 in the 800-meter and
Avery Harrington's 2:42.38 in the same event.
Cameron Sisk was the top Saints' finisher in the women's 1,500-meter had a season best of 4:53.13 while
Maris Potter closed at 5:03.47 for a season best as well.
The Siena Men had three personal bests in the 800-meter with
Austin Ferrin finishing fourth overall and clocking in at 1:55.60.
Marcus Homa had a personal best of 1:58.47 while
PJ Dauer also topped a season best with a time of 2:00.13 and
Christopher Murphy finished in 2:04.88 for a personal best.
Sara Fitzgerald put together a pair of season bests in both the 200-meter (28.01) as well as the 400-meter (1:01.93).
Luke Tkaczyk recorded a time of 3:53.17 in the men's 1,500-meter to place second overall.
Another notable included
Ean Piaschyk's time of 10:30.89 for a season best in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Siena will be back in action next Friday, April 24 when it takes part in the RPI Capital District Classic at Troy's Harkness Field. The meet begins at 2 p.m. however the first event with Siena competitors will begin at 3:20 p.m. with the women's 1,500-meter race.
