Siena Wins Three Races in Marist Red Fox River Rumble

O’Rourke Takes Women’s 800M; Decker, Skowvron each win 5,000-meter events

The Siena Outdoor Track Team won three races and had six finishes within the Top-3 spots on a warm and sunny Saturday at the Marist Red Fox River Rumble in Poughkeepsie.

Senior Mattingly O'Rourke won the 800-meter event for the second consecutive week, finishing in 2:14.50—a time that trimmed off better than five seconds off her winning time last week at the RPI Under the Lights event.
Her best time remains a brisk 2:13.18 at last year's Princeton Elite Invitational last May.

Siena had nine season best times on the day and five personal best times.

The Siena Men had three personal bests in the 800-meter with Austin Ferrin finishing fourth overall and clocking in at 1:55.60. Marcus Homa had a personal best of 1:58.47 while PJ Dauer also topped a season best with a time of 2:00.13 and Christopher Murphy finished in 2:04.88 for a personal best.

Sara Fitzgerald put together a pair of season bests in both the 200-meter (28.01) as well as the 400-meter (1:01.93).

Luke Tkaczyk recorded a time of 3:53.17 in the men's 1,500-meter to place second overall.

Another notable included Ean Piaschyk's time of 10:30.89 for a season best in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Siena will be back in action next Friday, April 24 when it takes part in the RPI Capital District Classic at Troy's Harkness Field.  The meet begins at 2 p.m. however the first event with Siena competitors will begin at 3:20 p.m. with the women's 1,500-meter race.
