Women’s Lacrosse Opens MAAC Postseason at Mount St. Mary’s

Saints to travel to Maryland; play on Sunday at 12 p.m.

EMMITSBURG, MD – The 2026 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Postseason will begin with Siena traveling to face fourth-seeded Mount St. Mary's (Md) with a 12 p.m. opening draw set on Sunday at Waldron Family Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Fifth-seeded Siena (10-6 overall, 5-3 MAAC) will meet the Mountaineers (10-6, 6-2 MAAC) for the first time in the postseason.

The month of April continues to be highly successful for Siena head coach Danielle Schwan-Tetreault as her teams have sported a 17-2 record during the month over the last three seasons including 4-1 this season. The Saints have come on down the stretch—winning four consecutive games against conference opponents Sacred Heart, Marist, Iona and Manhattan by a combined score of 55-20.

Mount St. Mary's is coming off an impressive 13-4 victory at Niagara, the conference's No. 2 seed heading the MAAC Postseason. Prior to that, the Mountaineers had lost consecutive games at Fairfield and versus Canisius.

The Mount leads the all-time series 6-2 against Siena, however, the teams have split the previous four games with no team winning by more than a two-goal margin. Earlier this season, the Mount escaped with an 11-10 overtime victory off a winning goal from MAAC Offensive Player of the Year and leading scorer Brooke Molchanoff (58 goals scored this season).

The Mount had six players selected to the All-MAAC Teams. Midfielder Shannon McTavish and Defense Hailey Chester earned a First Team selection for their respective positions. MK Allingham received a Second Team nod for attack, while Haylee Bittinger and Ava Kraszewski finished the season as All-Rookie selections. McTavish is ranked fourth in the MAAC in draw controls with 84. Chester ranks in the Top-10 in caused turnovers (fifth), ground balls (seventh) and draw controls (seventh). Allingham ranks fourth in the conference in assists with 27.  Bittinger and Kraszewski were rookies who stood out, ranking third and fifth on the team in points.

The Saints have five players named to the All-MAAC Teams with sophomore McAllister Salter earned both the MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year major award as well as All-MAAC First Team honors. Additionally, junior midfielder Elizabeth Wamp and sophomore Faye Gorman were both named to the All-MAAC Second Team while freshman Hailey Deptula was selected as an All-MAAC Rookie Team member. Salter ranks 12th nationally in goals-against average (8.10), ranks fifth in saves percentage (.440) and sports a 10-5 record as the starting goalkeeper.  Wamp ranks second on the team in goals with 25 while Gorman was instrumental in helping Siena hold the eighth best scoring defense nationally (7.56 goals allowed per game).  Deptula totaled 21 goals and six assists with 11 ground balls and 11 draw controls.
Junior attack Olivia Nicholson continues to lead the Saints in goals with 29 and points with 38. Junior Sydney Hannes leads the team in draw controls with 75.

In goal, Camile Thomas ranks fourth in goals-against average (9.71), first in saves percentage (.471), and fifth in saves per game (8.06 per game).

The winner will play either top-seeded Fairfield or No. 2 Niagara this Friday in Fairfield, CT in a MAAC Semifinal.
