Siena Women's Golf wrapped up play at the St. John's Invitational Tuesday, completing the second and final round of the 36-hole event at The St. Andrew's Golf Club. The Saints finished 10th in the 12-team field with a two-day score of +112 (684), improving by 12 strokes from round one with a +50 (338) effort on Tuesday after opening with a +62 (346) on Monday.
Julia Kret once again led Siena, pacing the lineup with a two-round total of +21 to tie for 23rd overall. Kret followed up her opening round with another steady performance on Tuesday (+8) to secure the team's top individual finish.
Emily Rensch and
Mackenzie Whitney each carded identical +30 totals to tie for 42nd, while
Emely Kintzel finished at +32 (T-48).
Chelsea Woods rounded out the Saints' competitors with a +38 showing. Whitney showed a six-stroke improvement Tuesday, finishing the final round +12, while Rensch and Kintzel each carded a +15 on the day.
As a team, Siena showed improvement in the final round, shaving strokes across the lineup to close the tournament on a positive note against a competitive field that featured host St. John's taking the team title at +62.
The Saints will now turn their attention to a head-to-head matchup, returning to action on Monday, Apr. 13, against Fairfield at H. Smith Richardson Golf Course.
