Saints Secure Back-to-Back COY Awards

DANBURY, CT – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2026 Division I Men's Lacrosse All-ECAC Team and major award winners.

Siena Men's Lacrosse first-year head coach Tim Cox was named the ECAC Coach of the Year to mark the second consecutive season in which Siena has won the award after the late coach Liam Gleason was the 2025 major award winner.

For the second year in a row, Siena (12-5) earned a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship with Marist as each held an identical 7-1 conference record.

Siena earned the right to host both the MAAC Semifinals and MAAC Championship for the first time in program history as a participant through a head-to-head victory against the Red Foxes earlier this season to secure the top seed and home-field advantage at Hickey Field.

Cox led the Saints through a grief-stricken season after coach Gleason's passing in December of 2025, producing a program-record seven All-MAAC First Team selections with 12 All-MAAC honors including another four major award winners.

Among the noteworthy accomplishments included a seven-game winning streak from March 3-April 11, a 15-11 win over then RV/RV Sacred Heart and consistent rankings in both the USILA Coaches and KANE Inside Lacrosse Polls throughout the season.

Siena ranked first in the MAAC in goals scored (224), second in goals per game (12.44), first in assists (126), second in assists per game (7.00), first in points (350), second in points per game (19.44), second in shots (797), third in shots per game (44.28), first in shots on goal (452), second in shots on goal per game (25.11), first in man-up goals (21) and first in man-up goals per game (1.17), first in ground balls (619) and first in ground balls per game (34.39), first in caused turnovers (150), second in caused turnovers per game (8.33), first in face offs won (281) and second in face off win percentage (.594)

Coach Cox had served for the previous seven seasons as the late head coach Liam Gleason's right-hand man and offensive coordinator.
