Siena Women's Soccer opened the 2026 season against a power conference opponent Wednesday night, falling 7-1 to Boston College at the Newton Soccer Complex.

The matchup marked the first-ever meeting between the two programs and the season opener for both teams.

After Boston College built a 4-0 halftime lead, the Saints found the scoresheet in the 70th minute when
Megan Stowell converted Siena's lone goal of the night.
Catherine Rogers set up the scoring play with an assist after leading the Saints offensively throughout the match.

Rogers paced Siena with four shots, including two on goal, while Stowell scored on her only attempt. Goalkeeper
Cate Burns made eight saves.

Boston College struck early, taking a 1-0 lead less than four minutes into the match on a goal from Ashley Roberts. The Eagles continued to apply pressure throughout the opening half, adding goals from Emily Mara, Sophie Reale, and Tess Barrett to carry a four-goal advantage into the break.

The Saints generated several scoring opportunities before halftime. Rogers put two shots on target, while
Anna Swyers,
Briana Neary, and
Lily Farrell each recorded first-half attempts.

Following Stowell's goal in the 70th minute, the Eagles answered just over two minutes later with a penalty kick from Nicollette Kiorpes. Boston College added two more goals over the final 15 minutes to account for the 7-1 final.

The Eagles finished with a 29-10 advantage in shots and a 15-4 edge in shots on goal. Boston College goalkeeper Faith Fenwick recorded three saves in the victory.

Siena returns to action Sunday, Aug. 16, when the Saints host New Hampshire in their home opener at Hickey Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
