Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 At MAAC Leader Loyola

BALTIMORE -- Junior Becky Bieneman scored the game-winning goal in the first half as Loyola defeated Siena, 1-0, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) match played at Curley Field Saturday afternoon.

Bieneman scored at the 25:02 mark off a direct kick 18-yards outside of the box. Loyola (5-6-0, 5-0-0) broke Siena's seven-game winning streak and improved to 10-0-2 all-time against the Saints. The Greyhounds have outscored Siena by a 25-3 margin in those 12 games.

The Greyhounds outshot Siena (7-5-0, 3-2-0) 15-6 and had an 7-2 corner kick advantage. Goalkeeper Danielle Ruppel had three saves and recorded her second shutout this season. Siena's goalkeeper Noel Cox had five saves.

Bieneman has eight goals on the season and 19 career goals, which ties her for second place all-time at Loyola.

The Saints continue the weekend road trip at Rider on Sunday.
