LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena freshman Diana Wierzba (Eden, N.Y./Eden) was named the MAAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season today. The honor comes on the heels of two emotional Saints' victories this week over Marist and Villanova.

In Siena's conference opener against Marist on Wednesday, Wierzba, a 5-7 outside hitter, connected on 35% of her total attacks and collected eight digs in the Saints' three-game win. She also recorded two service aces in the win.

Wierzba again played exceptionally in Friday's upset victory over Villanova. The diminutive attacker registered 15 digs and eight kills in the Saints' dramatic triumph.

"Diana has quickly established herself as one of the top young players in the league," Head Coach Ron Racey said. "She continually hits above and around players much taller than she is."

Wierzba and the Saints return to action Tuesday evening at Seton Hall.
