Siena Volleyball No Match for Fairfield

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Conny Paul killed her first 12 hits, and finished with 17 kills in 20 attempts, leading the Stags of Fairfield University (12-5) to a dominating three-game win over Siena College (8-8/2-1MAAC) in a MAAC women's volleyball match played at the Alumni Recreation Center Friday evening.

Fairfield cruised to a 15-4 win in the first game, shutout the Saints 15-0 in the second and did not let up in the third--winning 15-1. Paul, who finished with an astounding .750 hitting percentage, added eight digs, two blocks and two service aces. As a team, the Stags tallied 41 kills and connected on 47.9% of their attempts.

For the Saints, Christina Baldwin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.), continued her hot play, collecting eight of Siena's 15 kills on the evening. Baldwin also had a team-best eight digs.

The Saints had won eight of their last 11 matches prior to this evening. Fairfield, the preseason coaches' choice to three-peat in the MAAC, has now won seven straight matches and 10 of 11.

Siena will be in action at home on Wednesday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. against Seton Hall University.
