STATEN ISLAND, NY - Jill Pyzik scored a game-high four goals to lead Wagner College women's lacrosse to a 13-2 win over Siena College, Tuesday afternoon, at Wagner College Stadium. The Seahawks improve to 9-3, while the visiting Saints remain winless at 0-7.
Wagner exploded in the first half and scored 12 unanswered goals. The Seahawk defense was impressive as well, allowing only ten shots on goal the entire game - five in each half. Pyzik netted all of her scored before the intermission. Also scoring for Wagner in the first half were Catherine Cabellero (2), Jackie Losquardro (2), Kim Thompson (2), Kelly McVeigh and Julie Rudderow.
In the second half, Siena collected two goals one each by Stephanie Petruccelli and Sarah Estes. Petruccelli added an assist as well. Thompson added another for the Seahawks.
London Jones started in goal for the Seahawks saving three and allowing none. Mary Elizabeth Dupelle stood in goal for Siena. She allowed 13 goals while stopping four shots.
Siena returns to action against Vermont on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
