Nathalie Marchino Named District I Second Team Academic All-American

Siena College senior guard Nathalie Marchino (Geneva, Switzerland/Dewitt Clinton) was one of five players named to the CoSida Academic All-America Women's Basketball District I Second Team, it was announced recently.

Marchino, who maintains a 3.82 GPA in Finance, took over the point guard position this season. She lists third on the team in points per game with 9.8 and fourth in rebounds per game with 4.3. Marchino also tops the squad in assists (111) while ranking second in steals (43).

Student-athletes who maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average or higher and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing are eligible for the award sponsored by Verizon and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Saints will take on their final two games of the regular season this week as they travel to face Marist, who sits in first place in the MAAC, before heading home to host St. Peter's.
