Albany N.Y. - The Siena Saints mascot met with other area celebrity mascots on a hospital hop through the Capital Region on July 1, 2004. The goodwill endeavor was designed to provide entertainment for local patients at three area hospitals.
The Albany River Rats coordinated the event for the second straight season, which included visits from both River Rats mascots "Rowdy" The Rat and Rude-E Rat, the Siena College "Saint", "Kid Quest" of the Albany Conquest AFL2 football team and "Southpaw" of the Tri-City Valley Cats.
"We welcome our role in the community and would like to thank the other teams for joining us to provide entertainment and hope for children at local hospitals," River Rats Communications Coordinator, Erin Cassavoy said.
The Hospital Hop included appearances at Seton Health Hospital, Albany Medical Center and Ellis Hospital.
