BROOKLYN, NY-- Siena water polo team finished the 2005 season with a 9-16 overall record and 1-9 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Saints were defeated by Iona, 8-2 in their final game. With the win, the Gaels claimed the #3 seed in the conference championship round.

Against the Gaels, freshman Caitlin Smith (Miami Springs, FL) scored the Saints lone two goals in the loss. Sophomore Jeannette Ogren (Homewood, IL) and junior Lauren Earl (Troy, NY) each dished an assist on the two goals. The rookie utility player finished the season with 78 goals behind last season leader Shanna Allen (Mechanicsburg, PA) with 48 who dished a career best 41 assists and 57 steals.

The Saints picked up their first MAAC victory against Villanova in a thrilling 11-7 overtime win.
