Devon Austin scored 14 of his team-high 20 points in the first half, and Manhattan held off a second half challenge from Siena to pull out a 63-58 road win in Albany Monday night. Kojo Mensah scored 15 of his game-high 21 points in the second half for the Saints.
The Jaspers used an 11-1 run three minutes into the game to take a 12-4 lead and never trailed again.
Austin hit his first six shots and made two 3-pointers to help Manhattan build its lead.
The Saints scored the last three points of the first half, to cut Manhattan's lead to 32-22 at the break.
After the Jaspers took their biggest lead of the night, 41-26, on a Jason Wingate 3-pointer with 16:11 remaining, Siena mounted a rally. Trailing 45-35, the Saints used an 11-2 run to cut the lead to just one point with 6:09 left on a Tay Fisher free throw. Fisher missed the backend with the opportunity to tie the game, and the Saints could get no closer.
Siena's best chance came with 48 seconds left when Antoine Jordan stole the ball from Jason Wingate and raced the length of the court with the Saints trailing just 58-56. CJ Lee caught Jordan from behind and deflected the ball off Jordan to give the Jaspers the ball back.
Jordan finished with 11 points and 12 boards for Siena.
Arturo Dubois had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Manhattan which was playing without leading scorer and rebounder CJ Anderson (academics) for the third straight game.
The Saints travel to Loyola on Thursday and take on Saint Peter's in Jersey City on Saturday night.
