DURHAM, N.H. - Junior diver Shannon Dege broke her own school record with a score of 261.45 in the 1-meter event to pace the University of New Hampshire Wildcats to a 133-86 victory over the Siena Saints swimming and diving team Saturday afternoon in Durham, N.H.
In their second loss in as many matches, the Saints captured first place in four of 13 events on the day including the 500-yard freestyle, the 1-meter diving, the 200-yard backstroke and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Junior Jessica Cummings (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) placed first on behalf of the Saints in the 500-yard freestyle event with an overall time of 5:55.78, followed by teammate Melanie Murray (Hamden, Conn./Hamden), who clocked a time of 5:56.75 to finish second.
The 1-meter diving event saw sophomores Lisa O'Connell (Queens, N.Y./Saint Francis Prep) and Erin Keys (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) finish in first and second place with scores of 155.85 and 135.38, respectively.
Freshman Allison O'Keefe (Southington, Conn./Saint Paul Catholic) captured first in the 200-yard backstroke, pacing the pool with a time of 2:47.78, while the quartet of Ashley Serrago (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge), Meaghan Brauer (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), Jacylyn Giunta (Smithtown, N.Y.) and Rachel McShane (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) placed first in the 400-yard freestyle relay event with a time of 4:01.62 for the Saints.
Siena returns to action on Wednesday, November 1 against the Holy Cross Crusaders at the Siena Swim Center with a kickoff time of 7 p.m.
