Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena water polo team (0-5) lost a physical game to Bucknell 12-3 this morning in the opening round of the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
The Saints rallied in the third quarter with three goals to cut into the lead. Sophomore Caitlin Smith fired home two goals in the quarter including one in a 6-on-5 advantage which was set up by a Shanna Allen pass. Freshman Lynn Whitmire recorded the other Siena goal.
In her first start of the season, sophomore Kaedy Graves averted nine Bucknell shots for the Saints.
Freshman Erin Clune led the team with two ejections drawn while Lauren Garrigan was whistled for three ejections owned and was majored.
Bucknell got three goals apiece from Meagan Gins and Jennifer Swoyer.
The Saints will be back in action later this afternoon as they take on George Washington in game two of the Bucknell Invitational.
