Women's Lacrosse Loses 13-5 to Vermont

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena women's lacrosse team (0-2) suffered a 13-5 loss to Vermont (3-0) in the home opener at Siena Field this afternoon.

Freshman Ryan Tierney led the Saints with a pair of goals on four shots.

Three Siena players had at least five ground balls led by Leah Ciaccio's six.

Kathryn Marcantonio provided a lift off the bench with a goal and an assist for two points.

Trailing 1-0 in the first half, Lynn Harkins netted a goal to tie the game up. Vermont scored the next three goals and never let Siena get closer than a goal again.

The Catamounts had five players notch at least a pair of goals led by Tori Wasson and Kristen Millar's three goals apiece. Millar also added four assists for a seven point afternoon.

Siena held the edge in ground balls, 35-31

The Saints are next in action against Stony Brook with a 4 p.m. start time on March 11.
