Final Stats

New Rochelle, NY - The Siena water polo team concluded the 2006 season with a win against St. Francis, 7-4 and a lost to Iona, 5-4 at Freshman Lauren Garrigan lifted Siena to a 7-4 win over St. Francis on Sunday afternoon.

After jumping to a 1-0 in the early going, the Siena offense exploded for four goals in the second period. Lynn Whitmere, Lauren Garrigan, Lauren Biehle and Jeannette Ogren each found the back of the net to give the Saints a 5-1 lead at the break. St. Francis picked up a score in the third quarter, trimming the Saints lead, 7-3, but it wasn't enough as Garrigan garnered the teams game winning goal at the 3:14 mark of the first period.

The Saints picked up two more goals in the third quarter to move ahead, but St. Francis struck again in the fourth quarter while holding the Saints scoreless, but it wasn't enough as the Saints held on to 7-4 win.

Against Iona, the Saints lost to the Gaels, 5-4 in the second game of the day to finish the regular season at 7-23-1 and 2-8 in the MAAC.
