Final Stats

Binghamton opened the dual match portion of its 2007-08 schedule with a 7-0 win over visiting Siena on Saturday afternoon at the West Gym Courts. The Bearcats swept all six singles matches as well as the three doubles matches.

Freshman Anna Edelman earned a 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 win over Sarah Mayer at the No. 1 slot. She joined fellow freshman Lauren Bates at first doubles for a 8-1 win over Mayer and Lauren Moy. Bates defeated Moy 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2 position.

Freshman Yulia Smirnova and sophomore Danyelle Shapiro won 8-0 at second doubles over Jessica Asselin and Lauren Garbade. Smirnova also defeated Asselin 6-4, 6-2 at third singles while Shapiro beat Garbade 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles.

Junior Alex Sinclair won 6-0, 6-1 at fifth singles over Dinka Keric while senior Gayathri Balasundar beat Bridget Finnerty 6-0, 6-2 at sixth singles. Sinclair and Balasundar also defeated Keric and Finnerty 8-2 at third doubles.

The Saints return to action against Hartford Sunday in Loudonville at 10 a.m.
