Brucia opened up the scoring when she put the Gaels on the board at the 7:38 mark in the first half to take a 1-0 advantage. Brucia finished with four goals on the afternoon. The Saints countered with a goal coming from Smith just under two minutes later to even the game.
Siena (9-4) found themselves down 4-2 early in the second quarter after Brucia tallied her third score of the contest with 6:50 remaining in the half. The Saints responded with back-to-back goals to bring the game to a 4-4 tie at halftime.
