The Siena women's water polo team dropped an 11-6 decision to Iona Saturday in MAAC action. Freshman Gina Guevara led the Saints with two goals.
Guevara got the Saints off to a quick start, scoring twice in the first quarter. Iona led 3-2 after the initial stanza.
Siena got solid goalie play from Lisa Reilly who played the first and third quarters and had nine saves.
Lauren Biehle, Lauren Garrigan, Jeannette Ogren and Caitlyn Smith each scored for the Saints. Smith converted a nifty third quarter goal that cut Iona's lead to 9-5 with one quarter remaining.
"I thought we played a good team game today," interim head coach Ellen Howe said. "Iona just did a better job of converting their opportunities."
