LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena women's water polo team dropped its fourth straight contest on the road this afternoon to Saint Francis (N.Y.) 7-5 in New Rochelle, N.Y. With the loss the Saints fall to 12-11 overall and 1-6 in the MAAC.
Caitlin Smith (Miami Springs, Fla./Miami Springs), a junior center led the way for Siena with two goals and an assist. Lauren Biehle (Visalia, Calif./Golden West), Lauren Garrigan (Kailua, Hawaii/ Kamehameha) and Anne LaFex (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) each tallied a goal in the losing effort.
The Saints hung with Saint Francis through the first half, however, a third quarter surge put the Terriers on top 6-3. Siena made a late fourth quarter run, but they just ran out of time as Saint Francis ran off with a 7-5 victory.
Siena returns to action this evening when they take on Iona at 5:30 p.m.
