Sarah Mayer and Jasleen Sandhu held the top two spots, but Sacred Heart won the remaining four singles matches and took two of three doubles competitions to claim a 5-2 win over Siena Saturday in Fairfield, Conn.
Mayer defeated Kate Donnelly 6-2 and 6-0 at top singles and Sandhu won 6-1 and 6-1 at #2 singles. The Pioneers won the remaining four matches in straight sets.
Mayer and Sandhu teamed for an 8-4 win over Nicole Betz and Julianne Kasinow at top doubles, but Sacred Heart won the point with wins at #2 and #3 doubles.
Siena wraps up its fall season with individual play in the ITA Regionals in Philadelphia next weekend.
