Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena water polo team erupted for 15 goals in cruising to a 15-3 triumph over Connecticut College this afternoon in New London, Conn. Four Saints posted multiple goal performances as the Green and Gold concluded March with a 5-7 record and now stand at 7-12 overall on the season.
Siena raced out to an early 5-0 lead after the first and added to their cushion taking a comfortable 10-1 edge at the midway point.
Lauren Garrigan led the way with a game-high seven points spread out on four goals and three assists, while also adding a pair of steals. Lauren Biehle (3), Camille Norman (2) and Devan Ragg (2) complimented Garrigan as Siena's other multiple goal scorers.
Lynh Nguyen was solid between the pipes posting 12 saves in the Saints first game in 10 days and first contest in the Eastern Time zone since March 9th.
Prior to the game, the Saints defeated the MIT Club Team in a non-NCAA game, 11-3. Jackie Crosby tallied four goals while Caitlin Smith added three.
The Green and Gold return to action on Saturday for the start of league play in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Saints will battle Wagner and host Marist with the first game set to get underway at 10 a.m.
