Loudonville, N.Y. - Siena water polo freshman center Jackie Crosby was tabbed MAAC Rookie of the Week Tuesday after leading the Saints to a split in their weekend action which included a blowout win at Villanova. Crosby netted 11 goals and registered 14 total points in just two games.
A native of Poway, Calif., Crosby led Siena with six goals in a 17-7 win over Villanova on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia. She followed that up with a five goal and three assist performance later that day in a narrow overtime defeat against Iona. Crosby was solid on the defensive end as well, posting five steals and drawing five ejections.
Crosby becomes the third Saint this year and second in as many weeks to earn the award. Teammate Nicole Hagi captured the award during the opening week of play on Feb. 19, while Devan Ragg took home the honors last week.
Crosby and the Saints return to the pool this weekend for another full slate of MAAC games. The Green and Gold battle Wagner and Marist on Saturday before closing out the weekend with contests against Villanova and St. Francis (N.Y.) Sunday.
