LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena women's cross country finished fifth and the men's team took 7th at the 32nd annual Father Leeber S.J. Invitational in Fairfield, Conn. earlier today. Freshman Courtney Roosa was the top finisher for the women's team coming in 18th place overall.
The women's team finished fifth of 11 in the 5K race. Roosa finished 18th overall (20:20) with Brina Seguine (20:30) and Carly Calogero (20:35) coming in close behind. Jessica Morelli (21:06) and Casey Morelli (21:19) rounded out the top five.
The men's team finished seventh of 11 in the 8K race. Senior Ryan Donnelly placed 28th overall (26:59) with Ian Donnelly just ten seconds behind in 34th (27:09). Jed Turnbull (27:43), David Ellsworth (27:53), and Zack Fitzsimmons (28:06) also placed in Siena's top five.
It was a wet and slippery day with the heaviest rain coming down at the start of the men's race.
Siena's next meet is October 18 in the Munsey-Palma Invitational at UAlbany.
