The Siena water polo teamed dropped a pair of contests this afternoon at the ECAC Championships held in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The seventh seeded Saints fell 8-6 to #2 seed Brown in the opener before dropping the nightcap to MAAC rival and #3 seed Iona, 10-6.
Brown was led by a trio of players that scored two goals, while the Saints received contributions from five players who lit the lamp. Junior Gina Guevara led all Siena scorers with two goals.
In the final game of the day, Amanda Brucia's four goals proved to be the difference as the Saints succumbed to the Gaels, 10-6. Once more, Siena received goals from five different players with Lauren Biehle the lone multiple goal scorer, tallying a pair.
The Saints return to action for the seventh place game of the ECAC Championships tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. against #8 seed Mercyhurst.
