Box Score

Lindsey Rosecrans scored four goals and had two assists as she led Siena women's lacrosse past Central Connecticut State University 15-9 Sunday afternoon in New Britain, Conn. The Saints outshot CCSU 41-20 and allowed just two second half goals on nine shots.

Siena (2-1) took a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes of the game before giving up four straight goals. Caitlin Mikel, Deirdre McQuillan and Rosecrans responded for the Saints, each tallying goals to put Siena up 5-4 with 17:22 remaining in the half. Siena would never trail again.

CCSU (0-4) tied it 6-6 on a goal from Stephanie John, but Siena broke it 46 seconds later on Rosecrans' third goal of the game. Mikel and Allie Kain also scored to extend the lead to 9-6. Michele Conway brought CCSU into halftime on a positive note when she scored a free position shot just 20 seconds before halftime. Siena led 9-7 at intermission.

Siena scored the first four goals of the second half and blew the game open 13-7 with 16:58 remaining in the game.

The Saints tightened up their defense in the second half, allowing just two goals. Rosecrans and Lauren Corso led the team with four caused turnovers a piece. Siena forced 25 turnovers in the game.

Kristin Concordia made 10 saves in the win. CCSU's Alice Lee made 20 saves in the loss.

Siena returns to action on Wednesday when they host Holy Cross at Siena Turf Field. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
