Final Stats

Manhattan College defeated Siena College 16-12 Friday evening in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's lacrosse game in Riverdale, N.Y. Senior captain Lindsey Rosecrans scored four points on three goals and one assist to break the school's single season scoring record. She has 64 points this season, breaking Christina Pampalone's (60) record from 2005. Rosecrans is also the school's career scoring leader (152).

Rosecrans set the record on the first goal of the game when she fed senior Courtney Highsmith at the 27:45 mark. Manhattan (10-4, 4-2) scored six of the next eight goals to take a 6-3 lead with 6:57 left in the first half. Siena tied the game on three consecutive goals by Rosecrans, Highsmith and Caitlin Mikel. But Chrissy Gutenberger scored just 17 seconds later to give the Jaspers a 7-6 lead heading into halftime. Gutenberger led all players with six points in the game.

After Manhattan added to its lead three minutes into the second half, Siena came back twice to tie it at 8-8 and 9-9. But Manhattan pulled away with five straight goals in a 16-minute span. They led 14-9 with 6:17 left in the game.

Siena (6-9, 0-5) made a comeback bid with goals by freshman Deirdre McQuillan and Rosecrans separated by just 30 seconds to bring them within three, but Manhattan scored two more goals and held on for the win.

It's been a tale of two seasons for the Saints, who started the season 6-1 but have lost the last eight games.

Mikel led Siena with five points on three goals and two assists and forced four turnovers. Mikel has registered at least three points in 11 games this season.

Rosecrans is three goals shy of tying Pampalone's single season record for goals (50), which was set that same season of 2005.

Siena wraps up its season on Sunday at Iona. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
