The Siena athletic department will be digitizing all of its sports publications and several other promotional and informational pieces that have been printed in the past. The initiative will help cut costs, preserve the environment and allow the department to take advantage of cutting edge technology, making the publications more interactive and user friendly.
"The communications industry is changing and it is important that we stay ahead of the technological curve," Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Jason Rich said. "The move to digital publications allows us to be more creative while reaching far broader audiences with our message."
The 2009 Siena Volleyball Yearbook is the first sports publication to be published in the new format, which utilizes Adobe Flash technology. The move to a digital format allows for a more dynamic and interactive final product that includes embedded page and website links and utilizes some flash video.
