LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - After a Senior Day ceremony Sunday that honored captains Lisa Heimerle and Brittany Moran, the Saints took the field against Saint Francis (Pa.). Unfortunately, Siena lost their second straight overtime home game, 3-2.
Siena (2-12, 0-3) never led in the game, and was outshot 15-7 on the afternoon. However, the Saints received game-tying goals from junior Mackenzie Smith and sophomore Olivia Whelly after trailing 1-0 and 2-1. Smith's goal was her first of the year, while Whelly's was her second in as many games.
Saint Francis (3-10, 1-1) got the benefit of thirteen corners on the day, and they would end up winning off one in overtime. Tia Dudukovich took the corner, and passed it to Caitlyn Brown, who fired it home for the win.
Siena next plays Friday afternoon at Monmouth in a Northeast Conference matchup.
