Final Stats
The Siena women's soccer team isn't the only Saints' team without a blemish on its record. OK, it's still early, but the Siena women's tennis team continued to roll Saturday, knocking off Rider 7-0 here in Loudonville.
"It's good to get our first MAAC win under our belt," Head Coach Andy Christodoulou said. "The girls were nervous because it was the first league match. I look forward to next weekend when we will bring some individuals down to Marist to compete against top competition."
It was the second straight match Siena (3-0/1-0) won 7-0 by sweeping all nine matches.
"Everybody played well from top to bottom," Christodoulou said. "It wasn't the prettiest of matches, but we dug down when we needed to."
The only match that went to a third set was second singles where Danielle Crill held off Marly Roche with a 10-4 win in a super tiebreaker. Jasleen Sandhu, Carly Holloway, Jessica Asselin, Nicole Ross and Elora Benfer each picked up singles wins. Sophomore Brittany Filip teamed with Benfer at No. 3 doubles for an 8-1 Siena win.
