Tice Takes Home MAAC Honors

Nov. 1, 2010

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - After scoring the Saints' two most important goals of the season, senior captain Tabitha Tice was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week as announced by conference headquarters. Tice scored the game-winning goals in each of Siena's victories last weekend over Fairfield and Iona.

Tice, who was bestowed the MAAC's highest weekly honor for a conference-high tying third time this season, finished the weekend with five points on two goals and an assist. She concluded the regular season with career highs of 21 points (T-6th MAAC) and nine goals (tied for the team lead).

Against Fairfield Friday, Tice scored the golden goal with just over two minutes remaining in double overtime which propelled the Saints to a program-record 14th win. On Sunday needing a win to assure themselves a spot in the MAAC Tournament, Tice again lifted Siena. She scored the game-winning goal early in the first half and assisted on the Saints' second goal which sealed the deal in a 2-0 victory over Iona.

Tice and the Saints return to action Friday night when they begin their quest for the program's first ever MAAC Championship. The third-seeded Saints will take on two-seed Marist at 6 p.m. in the Chick-fil-A MAAC Women's Soccer Championships on the campus of Loyola University in Baltimore, Md.
