Camille Norman and Jackie Crosby each recorded multiple goal performances but it was not enough as the Saints dropped their first game of an eight-game California trip to host California Baptist 15-6 Wednesday evening at the Lancer Aquatics Center in Riverside, Calif. Siena falls to 1-5 with the defeat while the Lancers improve to 7-5.
California Baptist opened the game with a flurry, out-scoring the Saints 6-2 in the first quarter and led throughout. The Lancers Jennifer Grutz led all scorers with a hat trick in running her streak to 12 straight games with a goal.
Katie Ness and Devan Ragg accounted for the other Siena goals, while Jennifer Kissel stopped six shots in goal.
The Saints continue their west coast swing Thursday night at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Game time is nine o'clock Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific.
