Final Stats
LeMoyne opened up a 6-1 lead in the first 10 minutes and defeated Siena 14-8 in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon at Solvay High School in Syracuse, N.Y. It is LeMoyne's sixth straight win.
The Saints cut the deficit to 8-4 with 19 minutes left in the second half, but surrendered six straight goals, wiping away any comeback bid.
Siena is 2-10 all-time against LeMoyne. Siena's last win came in the MAAC Tournament semifinals in 2005 (W, 12-9).
Allie Kain led the Saints (4-4) with three goals and one assist. Caitlin Mikel added two goals and one assist and Deirdre McQuillan had two assists. Mikel was in on each of Siena's first three goals.
Mia Valetta, Brenna Bauer and Michelle Phillips each finished with four points for the Dolphins.
LeMoyne (6-3) led 14-4 with nine minutes left in regulation until the Saints scored four goals to end the game.
Sophomore goalie Kristin Concordia made five saves in the loss. Kelly Fucillo made 11 saves for LeMoyne.
LeMoyne capitalized from the eight-meter circle, scoring on 6-of-8 free-position shots.
The Saints return to action next Saturday when they play Marist in its MAAC opener in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
